The hands of

Crafted Path Travel

Kat and Mae, Crafted Path Travel co-founders, stand under a blue sky and big clouds in Oaxaca.

Founded by two creatives that share a love for meaningful travel and handmade beauty.

We host intimate, educational experiences that celebrate traditional crafts as a meaningful lens for human connection.

Our backgrounds in textiles have now expanded through ceramics, cuisine, and culture. Our journeys offer space to learn from artists that have been rooted in place - whose work is shaped by generational traditions and the unique environments they call home.

Meet Mae of LOOM Imports.

Mae is a seasoned guide & cultural connector with over 20 years of experience leading adventure travel, wilderness education, & off-the-beaten-path trips around the world. Her work with indigenous communities through guiding & NGO efforts sparked a deep respect for traditional handmade art practices, natural materials, & ethical commerce.

In 2013, she founded LOOM Imports—a B Corp certified home decor company committed to fair trade, social impact, & creating meaningful connections between makers & markets.

Mae is based in Asheville, NC, where the rhythm of the mountains, & a strong sense of community continue to inspire her daily life & work.

Whether hosting a gathering or collaborating on a project, Mae has a gift for tending to the small details that make those around her feel at ease.

Her thoughtful eye & sense of place bring care & attention to ensure experiences are both special & seamlessly smooth.

Outside of work, Mae is often in motion in the outdoors— skiing, running rivers, enjoying live music, or spending time on her partner’s farm.

Meet Kat of Studio Hædra.

Before turning to interior design, Kat was first and foremost an artist and maker- shaped by her roots in the heart of the Midwest.

Growing up in Chicago, she was surrounded by rich traditions of art, architecture, and craftsmanship—formative influences that continue to inspire her work today. With a deep love for all things tactile, Kat has spent years immersed in fiber arts, from spinning and dyeing natural fibers to weaving and quilting.

For Kat, travel and craft go hand in hand—both offering a way to connect more deeply with culture, place, and people. Her design sensibilities are grounded in what she creates with her hands, and she brings that same curiosity and care to every journey she takes.

When she’s not leading or dreaming up new creative adventures, you’ll find Kat running through the Redwoods and bodybuilding, befriending every dog she meets, or sharing a perfectly steeped cup of tea.
