MOROCCO

September 5-13, 2026

We’ll blend sensory immersion experiences with a beautiful sense of desert oasis retreat as we connect with the culture, craft, and people of Morocco.

Join us for an authentic tile making workshop, a hands-on cooking experience, a weaving class with a local women’s cooperative and so much more!

✷ OUR ITINERARY ✷

  • Upon arrival, you’ll be met by your driver and taken to Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, for our first night together. Depending on when you land, you may have time to stop and take in a few highlights of Casablanca along the way—an easy, beautiful intro to Morocco.

Once arrived and settled into our riad, the rest of the afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace. You might wander through the medina just steps from our door, visit the Kasbah of the Udayas, stroll through the Andalusian Gardens, or pop into the Museum of Modern Art—whatever feels right after a day of travel.

In the evening we’ll  gather for a relaxed, private welcome dinner—good food, good company, and a chance to ease into the experience together.

Travel time: ~1.5 hours from the airport to Rabat

  • In the morning we’ll hit the road and make our way toward the remarkable Roman ruins of Volubilis, with a stop and special lunch in the sacred hilltop town of Moulay Idriss along the way.

At Volubilis, we’ll have a private guided tour, bringing to life what was once the Roman capital of Mauretania Tingitana. It’s one of those places where history feels incredibly close—mosaics, columns and triumphal arches, and open fertile landscapes stretching in every direction.

If time and energy allow, we can also make a stop in Meknes—a quieter, often overlooked imperial city with it’s own charm and a fantastic market.

By afternoon, we’ll arrive in Fes, settle into your riad, take a breath, and maybe wander into the medina for your first glimpse of this layered city known as a hub of artisan craftsmanship.

    Travel Time: ~4 hours

  • Today is all about experiencing Fes through a local lens. We’ll spend the morning with a private guide who will lead us through the UNESCO-protected medina—sharing stories, hidden gems, and the rhythms of daily life that make this city so special. Before we head out, we’ll have a chance to connect with the guide and shape the day around what we’re most excited to see.

Some of the highlights might include the beautifully restored Fondouk Nejjarine, the historic Jewish quarter, iconic tanneries, and the vibrant craft souks where artisans are still practicing generations-old techniques. We’ll also be visiting the intricate medersas and stop by the Royal Palace of Fes.

Lastly, we’ll have the opportunity to get creative and learn all about mosaic tile making. Instructed by master local artisans, we’ll learn the art of Moroccan Zellige tile making, and we’ll each take home our own handmade pieces as a souvenir.

  • After breakfast, we’ll head to the Anou Cooperative for a special, hands-on weaving workshop with local artisans. This is a chance to slow down, connect, and learn directly from the makers themselves. You’ll create your own mini rug to take home—a meaningful, one-of-a-kind piece that carries the language and story of your time here.

In the afternoon, you might choose to unwind with a traditional hammam bathhouse experience—an incredible way to relax and reset, just as locals do.

That said, many travelers love carving out time to simply wander the medina of Fes on their own. Believed to be the largest pedestrian-only zone in the world, it’s a spot best experienced without a plan—getting a little lost, staying curious, and seeing what you stumble upon along the way.

We’ll share a private dinner in the evening, paired with Moroccan wines— a cozy, memorable way to close out the day.

  • In our private van, accompanied by a local guide, we’ll journey together toward the edge of the Sahara Desert! Our road trip will be filled with stunning sites as we travel through the Middle Atlas mountains and into the desert, highlighting the diversity of the country.

We’ll have the chance to stop in small and off the beaten path towns along the way, including Ifrane—a surprising Bavarian-style town home to Macaque monkeys.

From there, we continue south toward the Tafilalet region, through the expansive Ziz Valley. With a local guide, we’ll take a short walk through this lush agricultural landscape. With date palms stretching overhead and small farmsteads tucked into the greenery, we’ll see a rhythm of life that is deeply connected to the land.

It’s a longer travel day, but one filled with beautiful transitions, quiet moments, and a growing sense of arrival as we move closer to the desert.

    Travel time: ~7 hours

  • Our day begins by venturing into the Sahara Desert and enjoying Morocco’s golden dunes. We’ll have the opportunity to experience some off-road 4x4 travel or the chance to ride camels, picking whichever adventure best suits you. We’ll visit local nomadic villages and experience a totally different way of life adapted to the stunning, unique landscape.

In the afternoon, we’ll arrive at our luxe desert lodging and settle in a bit. For dinner, we’ll have a hands-on cooking experience where we’ll learn from our host how to make traditional, local cuisine. We’ll share our meal fireside, enjoy a private concert from talented local musicians, and relax under a stunning blanket of stars.

    Travel time: ~1.5 hours

  • After breakfast we’ll begin our journey out of the desert and towards Marrakesh. We’ll stop at the roadside town of Tinjeded to visit a local museum and have lunch. We’ll continue on through the Drâa Valley, also known as “The Valley of 1,000 Kasbahs,” until we reach the little town of Skoura where we’ll settle in for the night.

    Travel time:  ~5 hours

  • Today we’ll take a historic nomadic caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh. Along the way, we’ll visit the earthen clay mountain town and UNESCO world heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou and traverse over the stunning Tizi n’ Tichka pass, which winds through the High Atlas Mountains. From there we’ll arrive in Morocco’s famed “Red City” of Marrakesh and enjoy a farewell dinner together.

    Travel time: ~6 hours

  • We’ll share one last breakfast together before saying our goodbyes. Airport transportation will be provided.

Should you like to extend your trip, we’re happy to offer additional experiences, including more time in Marrakesh or a trip to the boho coastal town of Essouria. Reach out if this is of interest and we can help to arrange guides, transportation, and lodging anywhere else throughout the country both post or pre-trip.

Additional Trip Details

  • We like our trips to feel lively, but intimate. With that in mind, this trip is limited to 11 guests. There will also be 3-4 members of our team traveling with the group to help facilitate and provide personalized assistance and support.

  • The cost of this trip is $5,490 with a standard double room. If you require a private 1 person room, there are limited spots available at a supplemental cost. This is primarily due to the amazing boutique lodging layouts, however all lodgings include private bathrooms, and communal gathering spaces outside of the bedrooms.

We require a non-refundable deposit of $2,745 to secure your spot on the trip.

We are happy to offer flexible payment plans that are adaptable to your needs. Contact us directly to discuss options.

Payment is due in full TWO MONTHS before our trip (Monday, July 6, 2026).

  • Specific lodging details will be shared leading up to the trip, but know that accommodations are all independently owned boutiques, riads and bed and breakfast chosen for their comfort, character and charm. The one exception will be the night we’ll stay in luxury tents (with beds and linens) in the Sahara Desert.

  • Traveling in the Sahara desert will be undoubtedly hot. Our activities are structured with this in mind, and shaded and cooled areas will be available as needed.

The weather is mostly sunny, dry, and breezy, making it pleasant for exploring, especially in the mornings and evenings. Marrakesh and Fes experience warm, dry weather as they transition from summer to autumn.

Expect daytime highs averaging around 83∘F to 92∘F and comfortable evenings, with overnight lows dipping to roughly 61∘F to 66∘F.

  • We do recommend lightweight and comfortable long skirts or pants and long sleeves both out of respect for local modesty and also protection from the sun. Short sleeves and shorts are absolutely acceptable in the larger cities we’ll visit.

  • Our itinerary is quite robust and we’ll be traveling across the country during the course of our trip. We’ll be very mobile, not staying in one place more than a day or two. Please keep this in mind as you determine whether this trip would be a good fit for you. Additionally, we ask that you pack as light as possible bringing only a personal bag and carry-on bag.

  • If you’d like to arrive earlier or stay later than our set travel dates, let us know! We can help you make the most of your stay in Morocco and have great local contacts who can help you plan any lodging, transportation or additional guide needs.

  • Please note all travelers passports must be valid for at least 6 months after entry date. Arranging a visa prior to arrival is not necessary.

  • One month before our trip we’ll check-in with you to share some additional information, gather your flight details, provide a more detailed daily itinerary, and see if you have any questions.
